The School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Southampton is delighted to be hosting the Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics UK (CUWiP UK) 2021 on March 25-27, 2021.

CUWiP 2021 will be entirely virtual.

The CUWiP UK is aimed at undergraduates in physics and astronomy in the UK who identify as women, and is intended to empower and inspire delegates, giving them the confidence to express themselves and to pursue careers using their physics knowledge and skills. Virtual Lab Tours

We will have virtual video tours of the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, and of STFC national lab facilities at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) and the Boulby Underground Laboratory, including staff Q+A sessions

Panel Discussions

We are planning multiple panel discussions on careers outside academia and the intersectionality of race and gender.

Workshops

We are also planning multiple workshops, including a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon organised by Dr. Jessica Wade, (Research Fellow, Blackett Laboratory, Imperial College) @jesswade, “Improving Your CV”, “What Does a Medical Physicist Do?”, and more!
